Sherpa Capital buys Spanish depilation business Hedonai for € 19.3 million

Sherpa Capital, a private equity fund, has been awarded Hedonai in an operation valued at 19.3 million euros. Hedonai is the leading company in medical-aesthetic treatments and laser hair removal, with more than 300,000 clients and more than 230 staff members. The Sherpa Capital project aims to strengthen the expansion of Hedonai with the opening of new clinics, the incorporation of new services and treatments, and the implementation of a buy and build strategy. The goal is to make Hedonai the leader in the field of beauty medicine.

The sale process was carried out under the bankruptcy framework; the bankruptcy administration, led by M & M Abogados, announced that the winning bid was that of Medical Beauty Care Holding, a company owned by Sherpa Capital.

In addition, Sherpa Capital's offer was the only one supported by all of Hedonai's employees through their legal representatives.

Hedonai was founded in 1996 and is one of the pioneers of hair removal and aesthetic medicine in Spain. It has a workforce of more than 230 aesthetic professionals and has performed more than 2 million treatments to date.

Its main lines of activity are: (i) facial and body treatments, both medical and aesthetic, and (ii) medical laser hair removal through a full range of technologies. To give maximum technical quality, all Hedonai treatments are carried out under medical supervision: the firm has more than 25 doctors.

Sherpa Capital will support Hedonai in its expansion process, which in a first phase will be focused on the opening of new clinical centers, as well as updating current ones in order to improve the company's value proposition.

In this sense, it has already begun with the transformation of some centers such as the clinic of Hedonai in A Coruña, where work is being carried out to move the new clinical center and adapt it to the new value proposal that the firm wants to offer. to all your customers.

The strategic plan, prepared together with the management team led by Álvaro Porrero Valor, includes the opening of 5-6 centers per year and the incorporation of new aesthetic medicine services.
